Buzz Rickson's BR11702 Type M-65 - Olive

Originally issued by the US Military in 1965, the M-65 was the standard issued field jacket during the Vietnam War. This piece gained cultural significance as returning GIs wore this jacket to antiwar rallies, becoming a symbol of the counterculture of the 60's and 70's, and further immortalized on the big screen by Robert Deniro in Taxi Driver and Al Pacino in Serpico. The M-65 field jacket is, arguably, the most recognizable piece of militaria to come out of the 20th century.
